Scarecrow Fest 2008

There is a small town named Wanatah, Indiana.  It's only about 18 miles from here and this weekend they had their annual Scarecrow Fest.  What a wonderful festival.  It had the typical food and craft vendors showing their wares, pony rides for the kids, some small carnival rides as well.

Going to a small town festival like Scarecrow Fest is so much nicer than larger festivals.  Most people there seem to know each other.  It was a true feeling of comfort to attend this festival.

I photographed the event and tried to capture people having fun.  I did run into resistance with some vendors not wanting me to photograph their booth.  The only reason I could think of is that they're afraid someone might steal their ideas, so I obliged.  It's a shame they felt this way as I think it would of been a nice opportunity for them to show off their wares to more people.

In spite of some vendors not wanting me to photograph their booths, I had a good time photographing the people having a good time.

Photographs of the event are located in my gallery under "Scarecrow Fest 2008."
